THE NEW YORKER MAGAZINE ILLUSTRATES THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE SANDY IN THEIR LATEST ISSUE.

Last week's Hurricane Sandy produced one of the New York City's worst storm in the city's history, bascically wiping out most of the power in lower Manhattan last week. The storm caused major flooding in each of the 5 boro's across town levaing people without power and some without homes. Here is recent arial shot, taken fater the storm high above lower mahattan displayed on this week's New Yorker Magzine. This shot shows the effects of the storm on our city. It goes to show you that no matter how powerful our city is, mother nature is more powerful. Believe it!!!

'BASKETBALL IS BACK IN BROOKLYN!'

It's been 55 years since the Dodgers left Brooklyn for sunny Hollywood, LA. So when the Brooklyn Nets decided to make Brooklyn their new home I had to take a trip to the brand new Barclay's Center. I wanted to make sure to catch a game in their first season and I did! This state of the art venue is AWESOME! Plenty of great food, drinks, and easy access from the local train station across the city. I sat in section 219 row 4. So for $20 in the upper section I decided to bring my camera with me here are the results of the game, cool huh?! Yes, it was cool to see 2 historic NBA franchises playing a game in my hometown of Brooklyn, NYC! I was able to catch great pics of NBA allstars like Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and other did their thang on the court. Man! This is why I love this game and the essence that it brings to a sport fan like me and others as well and I'm glad it's back! #GOBKNETS!

By now we’re sure that many of you Basketball Wives L.A. fans may have read reports that four of the six main cast members have been fired from the show. Last weekend, TMZ made waves when they reported an exclusive news story that everyone except Jackie Christie and Draya Michele would not be returning for season three of the series because they “weren’t allowing all of their reality to be filmed.” The time has come to set the record straight. We can officially tell you all that despite the widespread reports, none of them are true. There have been absolutely no casting decisions made regarding the next season of the show. Some of the ladies have responded to the allegations, with Brooke Bailey tweeting “Not all rumors you hear are true….Don’t go off of what you hear, but what you see instead,” and Laura Govan also responding “P.S. ya girl ain’t never been fired from ANYTHING in life. eff what ya heard!” We agree with Laura and Brooke…don’t believe everything you hear

Rihanna had us all talking when she debuted her dramatic pixie cut at the 2012 MTV VMAs last month. But we shouldn't have acted all surprised by the close crop -- after all, it's basically the same haircut Halle Berry has had for years. Rihanna and Berry go head-to-head (in a silly competition we just invented) in the Pixie Cut Challenge, i.e. Who Wore Her Pixie Cut Better.  Although she's a chronic hair-changer, Rihanna held onto her short 'do long enough to shoot the November cover of Vogue, doing her best hunched-over model pose in a red Valentino dress. Halle Berry also donned red for her new InStyle cover but managed to look much cheerier in her cutout dress. Two different mags, two totally different vibes. In just one month, two major covers look remarkably similar?!?!?!

Beyonce will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.After the AP broke the story with an anonymous source, the singer took to her blog to confirm the gig in a decidedly Beyonce manner: She posted a photo of her face with eyeblack featuring the words "Feb. 3 2013." That, of course, is the date of Super Bowl XLVII. Last year, Madonna teamed up with M.I.A., Nicki Minaj and LMFAO for a somewhat chaotic halftiME performance (M.I.A. notoriously showed the camera her middle finger). A source familiar with the Super Bowl told The Associated Press the Grammy-winning diva will take the stage at the halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because that person wasn't authorized to publicly reveal the information. The official announcement is expected Wednesday, the source said. Beyonce, whose pop and R&B hits include "Crazy in Love," "Irreplaceable" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," has won 16 Grammy Awards. The 31-year-old sang the national anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl in her hometown of Houston when the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers.

Saturday, October 13 was a night for the black and beautiful as Hollywood’s elite stepped out for Black Girls Rock 2012. The organization, founded by Beverly Bond, aims to empower and mentor young women of color, while also promoting a positive portrayal of black women in the media.

This year’s event was hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King and includes appearances from Ciara and Missy Elliott, Keyshia Cole, Brandy and more.

Scandal star Kerry Washington and singer Janelle Monae were among those honored by the organization for their contribution to black girls everywhere through their careers. The ceremony airs on BET until November 4.

She certainly is unstoppable when it comes to music and fashion as she prepares for the release of her seventh studio album Unapologetic and fragrance ‘Nude.’ Above, the “Diamonds” singer goes high-end chic in a Valentino gown paired with lace booties. The singer also wears looks from Dior Haute Couture, Michael Kors, Rosamosario and Marc Jacob.

Most importantly, the Vogue editorial digs into everything readers want to know from Chris Brown to her carefree attitude. “I would love to go on a date,” she admits. “I’m a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun.” She continues, “Seriously, all I want is a guy to take me out and make me laugh for a good hour and take my ass back home. " FITTED RIGHT " MLB DEBUTS 2012 POST SEASON PLAYOFF HATS

In 1996 when the New York Yankees played the Atlanta Braves for the world series title, there was a new patch that debuted on the left side of the players hats. It was the first time that a patch was added to the players uniforms during the series, ever. The patch commorates the fall classic by showing the current year along with a funky baseball diamond design. The patch seem to be a hit amongst the fan's favorite and every year. So every year since  96' MLB has tried to re-capture that moment for every world series classic. This year MLB has introduced a different patch on the current palyoff team's hats commorating the 2012 playoffs before the world series. Now I'm sure that they will also have a world series hat for the 2 winners of the National and American Leagues when the series starts in a few weeks, but I'm really hoping that one day they can bring back the grey bottom hats which seem to be a better quality fit for fitted hat fans that love New Era caps.
