" A LEGACY TARNISHED FOREVER "

" PENN STATE RECEIVES THE DEATH PENALTY IN SPORTS, BUT WHO REALLY LOSSES? "

On monday morning July 23, 2012 @ 9am et. The NCAA made the annoucement that they would be making the decision of "Banning" the Penn State University football program for a minimum of 4 years starting effective the 2012 college football season. This meqans basically stripping the famed college football program of all post season bowl appreance for the next for years. The NCAA has also stripped hall of fame coach Joe Paterno of all his 111 wins from 1998-2011, making him drop from #1 to #5 on the all time wins list as a heach coach. Sanctions from the NCAA would also stripped Penn State of their scholarships awards program for the next 4 years as well. The NCAA has also decided penalized the university over 60 millions dollars in fines, which may seem like very little amount to pay for such a completely ugly display of disregard towards the abused children assistant coach Jerry Sandusky has caused throughout the years at Penn State University.

But who really lost ??? Was it Joe Paterno and his family? Or is it Jerry Sandusky and his family? Is it  the Penn State University and it's students??? Or is it the innocent children that were sexually abused and molested by Jerry Sandusky for those 14 years while Joe Paterno did nothing to help!? I think everyone in the situation losses. But the question will remain why? Why didn't Joe Paterno do anything more to prevent this from further happening to thses children? Was Joe protecting his friend Jerry? Or was he protecting his own legacy as the all time winningest coach in college football history? Or was he protecting the legacy of his beloved Penn State football program?

I'm sure that many including myself have always looked up to Joe Paterno. Many have always thought of him as a great coach, a greater man for all that he had achived in life. But I'm sure that many opinions about him has changed, especially those who felt the same about him as being a positive person of sports and life. But Joe Paterno should have made a better decision not for just himself and or Penn State University, but for those children who's lives have changed forever!

It's a sad, sad day for sports especially college football. It's also sad for Penn State and their beloved fans across this nation. So many stand by the decision of PennState taking the Joe Paterno statue down this weekend. Many also stand behind the NCAA banning the football program for the neglegence of those at power at Penn State those years the acts occured. Some feel that it may be senseless to some to take the statue down, but it makes a hell of a difference to others like me and those victims to do it and do it now!

So it's time for Penn State to move on, and move on a better direction way from this ugly situation. Lets hope that within years Penn State is able to move forward from this. But who really knows maybe they won't ever bounce back from this, and the black cloud that hangs over the name Penn State now will be tarnished for years to come. Lets just hope and pray that nothing like this ever happens again, not for this university or any university in the world!

" NaS - LIFE IS GOOD" ALBUM REVIEW

" LIFE IS ALWAYS GOOD "

There’s nothing like a little trauma to bring out the best in a writer. Luckily for top scribe Nas, he’s had a truckload of late.Since his last album four years ago, the man some see as New York’s greatest rapper (in a dead heat with Jay-Z) got divorced from his wife of two years (the avant-R&B singer Kelis. To sweeten the deal, she was seven months pregnant with his child. He also got sued by the IRS (to the tune of over $2.5 million in unpaid back taxes) and watched his daughter (from an earlier relationship) grow into a boy-crazy, Twitter-loving teen capable of turning this 38-year-old’s hair 50 shades of grey.

The divorce gets play right on the CD’s cover. It shows a contemplative Nas draping the green wedding dress worn by Kelis over his knee. (As the story goes, that’s the only thing she left in their house after the split.) Yet this is far than the bitter divorce CD some had expected. While references to Kelis bookend the album — and though early tipsters have compared the CD to Marvin Gaye’s classic post-divorce/screw-you screed of the ’70s, “Here, My Dear” — it turns out Nas’ title (“Life Is Good”) isn’t nearly in that sarcastic league. The recent controversies in the icon’s life seem to have brought out in him a mix of the philosophical, the nostalgic and the inspired. Nas’ new lyrics feature some of the densest, smartest rhymes in a career full of them. It also entwines politics, personal experience and even flashes of humor (something he’s hardly known for) into the star’s most encompassing verbal flourish since his masterpiece, “Illmatic.” Better, it reflects his age now as cogently as his classic did then. When “Illmatic” came out, Nas was just 21.

Now pushing 40, he has delivered the kind of mature rap album that proves that’s hardly a contradiction in terms. It helps that the music couldn’t be beter tailored to Nas’ broad and gripping flow. It’s a richly orchestrated work whose grandeur never undercuts its stone-cold funk. On cuts like “A Queens Story” and “Accident Murderers,” longtime producer Salaam Remi help Nas capture the street genius of ’80s and ’90s New York hip hop, but updated with a modern sheen. Guest rappers Rick Ross and Large Professor, with their deep voices and methodical flows, make ideal counterpoints to Nas’ needling, skittish style. R&B stars broaden the music out. Mary J. Blige sings a killer melody on “Reach Out,” Anthony Hamilton brings his poignant Southern soul to “World’s an Addiction,” while Amy Winehouse’s posthumously-released vocal on “Cherry Wine” has more jazz elasticity than anything on her hastily assembled postmortem CD. As bangin’ as the music may be, it’s Nas’ honesty that draws us close. Refusing to hide behind a character or even a persona, the rapper lays himself bare, detailing his problems and perceptions with such confidence and grace, it’s guaranteed that “Life Is Good” will make fans feel great.

~~~ Great Review!
" BITTER, BITTER SWEET - GOODBYE "
" IN KNICKS LAND - EVERYTHING REMAINS THE SAME, WELL KINDA?! "
So in recent weeks "Us" die hard NY Knicks fans have been playing close attention to the sports news. There have been a level of excitment and disaappoint within days of signings of new players and failure to sign star players already within the organization. The NBA free agency frenzy clocked started on July 3rd, and the Knick were granted early "Bird Rights" to Jeremey Lin and Steve Novak early. The Knicks went out and signed new free agent point guard Jason Kidd was acquired to be a metor to Jeremy Lin, and they also signed former Knicks star Marcus Camby as well. Things look to be shaping up in Knicks land adding more experience to a much needed Knicks team.
But we are talking about the knicks right?! What would life be in Knick world without a little "drama"? So not everything you hear is all good when it comes to the Knicks, and so the saying goes "All good things seem to come to and end". So the drama begins starting last week when the Hoston Rockets offered Jeremy Lin a $25 million dollar contract offer, coming from a team who initally waived Lin last year in which the Knicks were able to sign him and thus began the "Lin-Sanity" era in NY last season.
 But it seems as if the Knicks were going to match any offere made by the Rockets. But oh! How we are all mistaken! It seems as if The terms of the Rocket contract are more complicated than we know. It seems as if the Rockets will pay $5 million for the first and second year of the contact and a cool $15 million in the third year of the contact forcing the Knicks to basically withdraw from Linsanity sweepstakes. The Knicks will not be able match that offer because it will mean that the Knicks have to pay a total of $30 million over the luxuary tax. Some players on the team feel that it's not worth paying one player over $30 million in his 3 year of his contact, which many people including current Knicks star Carmelo Anthony says the current offer to Lin by the Rockets is quote  "Ridiculous!". So was the Rockets playing the Knicks a little knowing they weren't going to get J.Lin and just wanted to up the offer out of spite?! It seems as if The Rockets may be getting their wish after all.
So reports have indicated that the Knicks are not going to further pursue Jeremy Lin and have already signed former PG Raymond Felton in a sign and trade deal with the Trailblazers also getting former Knicks star Kurt Thomas back. The Knicks feel that Lin will do what he has to do to get his big money contract else where and the Knicks are planning to do what they must do and move on in the situation and sign players that will fill that void left by J.Lin. The Knicks will have until tomorrow night ( 11:59pm, est. to be exact! ) to match that offer or else Lin can sign with the Rockets. Does jeremy really want to end up in H town where he will not get the same ytype of love as he did back in  Madison Square Garden?! Thing couldn't get more worst right?! Wrong! As of last night more bad news follwed as J.Kidd was involved in DWI incident in The Hamptons causing a quite stir this past weekend.
So should Knicks still sign Jeremy Lin? Or should they allow him to walk and let Jeremy Lin go for the money he wants and sign with the Rockets? Well whatever happens stay Tuned this is not over by any means!
" CASIO G-SHOCK ROSE GOLD SERIES "
The summer couldn't get more better for G-Shock fans with the new release of the Rose Gold Series. Not only are these watches trend setting but feature an eye popping large face dial which sets the watches aside from other watches in the market which are fairly priced not to break your pockets. The oversized dial face of Casio G-Shock timepieces received subtle design treatment in the form of rose gold inlay. Following its Hypercolor Collection last year, this more recent addition includes refined aesthetic yet still retains that G-Shock toughness. In the popular GA-110 and GA-200 editions, the Rose Gold Series will be available starting this month as part of Casio G-Shock’s July release.
" DREAM CHASERS "
" KOBE THINKS HIS 2012 DREAM TEAM CAN BEAT MICHAEL'S1992 DREAM TEAM, BUT HIS AIR-NESS THINKS KOBE'S COMMENTS ARE PRETTY DUMB "
Michael Jordan wasn’t too pleased with the comments Kobe Bryant made about the 1992 Dream Team. According to a statement made by the Los Angeles Laker in Las Vegas this week, this year’s Dream Team could take down 1992’s Dream Team in their primes. He backed up his statement by reasoning all of the members of the 1992 team were at the tail-ends of their careers while this year’s team are in their primes.As reported by the Associated Press, Michael Jordan laughed at the baller’s statement.
"I absolutely laughed, he said during a golf tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina. "For him to compare those two teams is not one of the smarter things he ever could have done.”
The 1992 Dream Team, which was made up of 11 Future Hall of Famers, won six Olympic games en route to the gold medal. "I heard Kobe say we were not athletic," the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats said. "But we were smart. He said we were too old, but I was 29 and in the prime of my career. Pip (Scottie Pippen) was 26 or 27, (Charles) Barkley was 29, Patrick (Ewing) was 29 and Chris Mullin was 29. Almost everybody was still in their twenties."
"I imagine he's trying to say it to legitimize his own Dream Team," he later said. "But to me it's not even a question what team is better."
Jordan isn’t the only one to refute Kobe’s statement, Magic Johnson took to Twitter to voice his opinion as well. “I laughed as well,” he wrote. “The 1992 Dream Team had 11 HOFs, 23 champ rings & the greatest player of all time in Jordan. No chance this years team would take us. Our '92 team had too many winners, were too smart & too competitive to lose to Kobe & the 2012 team. I am excited to watch them though.” Bryant has yet to comment on Jordan's and Johnson’s rebuttals.
What do you think? Does 2012's Dream Team have anything over 1992’s Dream Team?
" AMERICAN DREAMS, ONLY MADE IN CHINA "
 " THE RAPLH LAUREN DILEMMA "
Recent news about the american icon clothing designer Ralph Lauren and the critisim over the outfits selected for the U.S. Olympic teams participants that will be wearing his clothing line during the opening and closing ceremony of the summer London olympic games in August. In a recent article writen by NJ.com focuses more at the matter at hand which has China in the center of the controversy.
At first glance, the thing you’ll notice about the U.S. Olympic team’s new uniforms is the beret. Do even the French wear berets anymore? But dig a little deeper and the insults to the American spirit get worse. First, the Polo Ralph Lauren logo — on the left breast of Team USA’s $795 formal blazer — is massive, a you-can’t-miss-it advertisement that dwarfs the American flag and Olympic rings logos on the right breast.
(Reality check: Maybe that sort of unapologetic commercialism symbolizes America better than the Stars and Stripes.)
The real affront to patriotism is inside, where the label clearly reads “Made in China.” Ralph Lauren and the U.S. Olympic Committee were panned from coast to coast last week for the slap in the face of the struggling U.S. textile industry. Senate Majority Harry Reid (D-Nev.) went so far as to suggest we burn the uniforms and start over. What should our athletes wear instead?
“If they have to wear nothing but a singlet saying ‘USA’ on it, painted by hand, that’s what they should do,” Reid said. The U.S. Olympic Committee released a statement: “The U.S. Olympic team is privately funded and we’re grateful for the support of our sponsors. We’re proud of our partnership with Ralph Lauren, an iconic American company.” Notice, they didn’t mention the berets.
So did Ralph Lauren make the right decision on choosing China as the manufacturer of the Olympic clothing for the USA Olympic team or should he have just mad the clothes here at home in the USA?
You decide?!
The Brooklyn Nets will have a pretty good team on paper and though he NY Knicks still have the heart of NYC, it may not be long before the Nets start to steal some fans from the Knicks. Only time will tell but for now the Nets are planning to make some "BIG NOISE" in Broooklyn!
" KANYE IS KEEPING UP! "
"KANYE IS SET TO MAKE IS DEBUT ON KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS "
It was only a matter of time before the match made in publicity heaven found its way to reality television. Any doubts about whether or not Kanye West would lend his image to girlfriend Kim's hit show Keeping Up with the Kardashians were put to rest last night as the hip-hop phenom showed up to take his lady to Scott Disick's restaurant opening.From the music building upon Kanye's arrival, E! must have known what kind of moment they had as he walked through the door. (You'd think it was the second coming or something.)
In the end, Kanye's debut was rather anticlimactic if only because it was refreshingly normal. His appearance was less about the over-the-top personae he's cultivated in the press and more about being the standard supportive boyfriend. He simply smiled all googly-eyed in the corner while Kim debated on what to wear, tossed a few sub-titled compliments her way, and doled out hugs to her sisters. Maybe this thing is going to go the distance after all.
" NOT GOING FOR BROKE "
"  WANNA SEE JAY-Z CONCERT IN BROOKLYN FOR LESS THAN $30? IT'S A HOVA BARGIN  "
More than 7,000 tickets for Jay Z opening night concert at the Barclays Center on Sept. 28 will be sold for $29.50 — nearly half the seats for the three-night gig. The modestly-priced upper bowl seats will also be available for the rapper’s Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 sets and will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. Fans looking for better seats will have to shell out anywhere from $59.50 to $254.50 for the remaining.
By contrast, the top ticket for Barbra Streisand's ballyhooed Oct. 11 and 13th concerts are selling for more than $700 a pop. Jay-Z fans said the cheaper price shows the rapper has kept in tune with the neighborhood"I don't think I would do the same thing. He has a lot of pride being from Brooklyn so he's probably trying to give back to the community.
 I'm definitely going to go," said Chelien Brown, 21, of Bush. While the arena has a 18,200 seat capacity, primarily for basketball, 3,614 of those seats are located behind the stage during concerts and will not be sold due to blocked views.
Jay-Z- whose real name is Shawn Carter -is a director of the arena and minority investor in the Brooklyn Nets. He grew up in the Marcy Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where he sold cocaine, almost killed a rival in a knife fight, and once shot his brother in the shoulder, according to biographer Zack O'Malley Greenburg, who wrote “Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner to Corner Office.”
Tickets for the concert can be bought online at www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.
Although there isn’t a limit on the number that can be purchased, Barclay Center officials are working with ticketmaster in an effort to block ticket brokers from scooping up all the lower priced ducats. “We want anyone with interest to have a chance to attend his shows. It’s Jay-Z’s way of thanking Brooklyn,” said Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark.
" CROSSING THE LINE "
" NY YANKEE STAR ROBINSON CANO'S FAMILY WAS HEAVILY HARRASSED BY KC ROYALS FANS OVER NOT PICKING THEIR OWN PLAYER IN THE HR DERBY "
New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano took it in stride when fans at Kauffman Stadium booed him throughout the All-Star Game festivities this week. But he said Royals fans "crossed the line" when they subjected his family to similar treatment during the Home Run Derby on Monday.  Cano told reporters Tuesday night that fans yelled at his family members, including his mother, when they left their seats to go to the restroom during the Derby. He declined to be more specific but said he believed the fans went too far. "This is a game," Cano said. "We're All-Stars. And if I get booed, I don't really care. But when they start with your family, that's over the line. "Thank God they didn't do anything more (than yell). You don't want people to take it too far and do something to your family. It's just a game. You want to have fun with it and go home with some good memories.
" Cano was a magnet for attention for two straight nights at Kauffman Stadium. On Monday, fans booed him mercilessly for leaving Kansas City DH Billy Butler off the American League's Home Run Derby team after he had pledged to include a Royal. Cano, the AL's captain and defending Derby champion, failed to hit a single homer in the competition. The fans treated Cano roughly again during the National League's 8-0 victory Tuesday. Cano popped out and singled in two at-bats before leaving the game in the fifth inning.
Commissioner Bud Selig said Tuesday that MLB might consider a rule to include a hometown slugger in future Home Run Derbies to alleviate potential controversies. Last year in Arizona, fans booed NL Home Run Derby captain Prince Fielder of the Brewers for leaving Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton off his team.
Cano picked Fielder, now of the Tigers, Jose Bautista and Mark Trumbo for the AL derby squad at the expense of Butler. They finished 1-2-3 in the competition."It was a tough decision," Cano said. "It's easy to understand how fans want to see the kid from their hometown. But the fans need to understand, we're not doing it because we don't like other players. We just want to pick the people we think are going to put on a good show for the fans."
" THE KING AND I "
 " SERENA WILLIAMS & ROGER FEDERER WINS THE 2012 WIMBELDON CHAMPIONSHIPS "
They now have 12 Wimbledon singles titles between them, as Roger Federer and Serena Williams are the newest (but not new) titleholders at The Championships. Federer became a men's-record-tying seven-time champ at the All England Club by outdueling British hopeful Andy Murray on Sunday, while Serena equaled her big sister Venus by capturing her fifth title with a predictable victory over third-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska in the ladies' final on Saturday. This also marked the third time that Federer and Serena have garnered Wimbledon titles at the same fortnight (2003, 2009 and 2012).  The 30-year-old Federer padded his men's record with a 17th Grand Slam title by nailing down his first major championship in 2 1/2 years. And in the process, the Swiss legend triumphantly returned to the top of the men's rankings, supplanting Australian and U.S. Open champion Novak Djokovic. The elegant Federer upset the powerful Serb in the semifinals last week on his way to tying Pete Sampras and William Renshaw with his seventh Wimbledon crown. Federer also matched Sampras' record of 286 weeks at No. 1.
Federer set yet another men's record by appearing in his eighth Wimbledon final (7-1). His only loss in that stage of the tournament came against Rafael Nadal four years ago in what many consider to be the greatest tennis match of all-time. Perhaps you do as well. The 30-year-old Serena, meanwhile, captured Grand Slam singles title No. 14, which is good enough for fourth place among the Mount Rushmore of women in the Open Era (since 1968). Only Steffi Graf (22), Martina Navratilova (18) and Chris Evert (18) have piled up more majors than Serena over the last 45 years. Obviously, there's something to be said for the 30-somethings here. Djokovic failed in his attempt to repeat as Wimbledon champ and also lost his No. 1 ranking in the process. Just last month, the swashbuckling Serb was within one match victory of holding all four Grand Slam titles. And now, just a month later, he only holds half of the Slams and has fallen to No. 2 in the world. Proof that it's a cruel world ... at least in terms of tennis. The 25-year-old Djokovic managed, however, to reach a ninth straight Grand Slam semifinal -- the longest current streak in the game.
The defending women's champion at the Big W was Czech bruiser Petra Kvitova, but it was guaranteed she would come up short this year when the left-hander gave way to Serena in straight sets in the quarterfinals. The French Open superman that is Nadal headed to Wimbledon 2012 as the favorite, but he crashed out mightily in the second round, where he was shocked by unheralded big-serving Czech Lukas Rosol in five sets under the roof on the famed Centre Court, which was covered on many occasions at this latest fortnight because of almost-daily rain in the London suburb. The 26-year-old Rosol was playing in the Wimbledon main draw for only the first time in his career. For the record, Rosol lost to German Philipp Kohlschreiber in his next match. Nadal had appeared in the final in his last five trips to Wimbledon, winning a pair of titles and finishing as a runner-up three times, including last year against Djokovic. Djokovic and Nadal had met in a men's-record four straight major finals before last week. And this most-recent Grand Slam finale was played without either one of 'em. Murray jacked up the home faithful by becoming the first British male to reach the Wimbledon final since Bunny Austin in 1938, but failed in his attempt to give the Brits their first men's champion there since Fred Perry way back in 1936.
" TRAGEDY STRIKES "
 "USHER'S STEPSON IS THE VICTIM OF A TRAGIC JETSKI ACCCIDENT "
Usher's stepson, Kyle Glover, was declared brain dead Monday morning after an accident. The 11-year-old boy was tubing on Lake Lanier in Georgia on Friday, when he and a friend were run over by a man on a personal watercraft, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Glover and the other victim were airlifted to a hospital. Glover has not shown any signs of brain activity since his admission, according to his doctors. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources reported that alcohol was not involved, but officials still don't know how the crash occurred. DNR agents have identified the operator of the personal watercraft but have not released his name, reports gossip website TMZ.
Investigators intend to recreate the accident using computer models to determine what happened. Based on their findings, they may or may not recommend that the district attorney press charges. But even if there aren't criminal charges, Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster may still choose to bring a civil suit against the personal watercraft's operator. Glover's physical injuries are the most likely basis for a lawsuit, but based on his condition they might also sue for loss of consortium of a child.
A claim for loss of consortium is typically raised by the spouse of an injured victim. It seeks compensation for the lost ability to have a normal married relationship after an injury. If raised by Usher, the claim could refer to the lost relationship between parent and child as a direct result of the accident.Even if Glover eventually wakes up, chances are he'll be a very different child. The fact that his parents likely won't be able to continue a normal parent-child relationship because of the accident could be another basis for a potential claim of loss of consortium of a child.
" OUT OF THE CLOSET ?!?!?! "
" SINGER FRANK OCEAN ADMITS TO HIS BI-SEXUALITY ON A RECENT ALBUM TRACK "
With rappers like Jay-Z throwing their support behind same-sex marriage, there's reason to believe the hip-hop and R&B communities are becoming more tolerant of gays. Amid these changing currents, rumors have surfaced that Odd Future associate Frank Ocean will come out of the closet on his forthcoming Channel Orange album.
The up-and-coming singer has been holding listening parties all over the world, most recently in London, and after giving Channel Orange a spin, BBC 1 radio personality Max reported back on lyrics that would seemingly out Ocean as gay.
"Frank has also opened up about his sexuality on the album, we think it's brave and admire him for being so honest and sharing such a personal aspect of his life through his music," Max said. "On the songs 'Bad Religion' 'Pink Matter and 'Forrest Gump' you can hear him sing about being in love and their are quite obvious words used like 'him' and not 'her.'
"In the world we live in now we can't see this being an issue or why it should be?" she added. "But we do commend him for not continuing a facade and conforming to what a Hip Hop so called rule book expects, we say live your life and be yourself."
If Ocean were to out himself in such a public way, it would put him in rare company. While Game hinted last year that "several rappers" are gay, no major superstars have broadcast their homosexuality. Will Ocean test the waters, or are the rumors unfounded?
