NYC had just given birth to this new music called rap. Now let me explain to you that Rap music isn’t a culture! Rap is a buisness in the form of music and Hip Hop is the culture that gave birth to it. I was only 8 years old when I heard Run-DMC’s “Rock Box” and “The King of Rock”. Now I’ve heard plenty of Run-DMC songs but these 2 particular songs was one that made such an impact of my love for hip-music at  my young age. For me, I noticed I had such an infatuation towards this  new hip-hop music and these songs did it for me!. Now back then we didn’t have the internet  as we do now to look up favorite song as we do now, we had to only rely on the radio such as WBLS and KISS FM in NYC which were the only 2 radio stations that only played RUN-DMC’s music befor Hot 97 was even thought of. Now I’m talking about way before BET/MTV even decided to play music vidoes we had the radio which played a big role in making Hip-Hop what it is today. Run-DMC  (Joseph ‘RUN’ Simmons, Dharyl (DMC) McDaniels, and Jason (Jam Master Jay) Mizell which was three friends from Hollis Queens, NY ( and they were one of Hip_Hop pioneers that  gave the rap game swagger with Dookey Rope Chains, Lee Jeans, Cazal glasses, Black leather blazer jackets, Kangol Hats and of course Adidas sneakers which  made them the 1st rap group to ever produce a song for their love of  favorite sneakers, which was on the most noticeable traits of their group identity. I just wanted to just shout out one of the greatest rap duo’s ever to bless the rap game with their great hip hop music Queen’s own Run-DMC  for paving the way for hip hop music today!

I happen to stumble upon this video by a company call "LookSeeGoods.com"  and I had to burst out laughing over some the antics that the gentlemen in the video was actually doing. We have all been gulity of doing this with a cellphone and posting pictures of our favorite sneaker on Twiiter, facebook, and Instgram. So watching this commercial gave pleasure knowing that I wasn't the only one that does this with eir smartphone. The dude in the video has some heat or in other words some really nice sneakers. His name is Kyle Yauaguchi, he was a famous designer at Nike and reading his story he help create some of the best sneakers ever that nike has made. But in 2010 him and wife and decided to venture out and create a sunglass company called "LookSeeGoods.com", where they have created some really cool frames under $69.00! Kyle creates some awesome glasses that brorrow designs from Nike famous footwear from the The Nike Air Max Safari 1's, to the Famous Nike/Air Jordan Cement 3's and 4's. Plus he also features a pair that glow in the dark when light is reflected off the frames itself. I'm sure that Kyle's company will continue to grow with popularity within the urban community, I'm already a big fan of the eyewear line. Most notible profiles of famous actors include Michael K. Williams of "The Wire" and actress Rosie Perez of Spike Lee's "Do Tthe Right Thing".

These new Nike Kingman ACG resembling one of the Red Wing's boots models. But never the less these seem to be legit for men's footwear this winter. I'm sure there will be different colors ways that will be produced, but these Navy Blue or "Obsdans" Boots are cooler than Eskimo sh*t. These boots will be availabe at your local nike retails within the 5 boro's and beyond. Make these a part of your footwear collection this wineter, as I will be sure to make them a part of mine as well!

" ALMOST HOME PART 2" THE NEW BROOKLYN NETS ARENA IN IT'S FINAL STAGES OF COMPLETION

  

"YES!! WE ALMOST HOME!!!" 

A few months ago I featured a segment called "Almost Home" which featured the new Brooklyn Nets Area aka The Barclays center in Brooklyn. I get to see this everyday out of my window from my job and everyday is always something new. At times i get to chat with many workers and ask questions like "How's it   coming along?" and I get so many different answers. One worker told me "That the rush is on! We have to work  24 hours 7 days a week!" he also mentioned that "they are really pressed for time they have to be finished by Sept 5th".  Walking thru the subway station at Atlantic Ave has now been changed to Barclays center. The walkways are now littered with posters of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson and more players from the team. Everyday us Brooklyn'ites that live or work near the arena just get excited to see more and more pieces added to the arena everyday. I saw exclusive pics from one of the worker's iphone and when I say that it's done, trust me it is done inside!!! We can't wait for the arena to open next month with headlining concerts by Jay-Z and John Legend, Ringling Brother's Circus, Disney on Ice, Boxing, Gymnastics,College Basket Ball, The NHL, of course The New Brooklyn Nets!!!!  

This will be a good year for Brooklyn, Trust me!

 Despite only being a newlywed the Basketball Wives star has been forced to file for divorce after just 41 days. Recent revelations have alleged that Johnson was a serial cheater, and some reports have accused him of cheating on Lozada both before and during their short marriage.Lozada cut a solemn figure at the weekend as she strolled along a Miami, Florida beach as she takes a chaotic few months in. The recent break-up was stirred when Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada after an argument. Lozada, 36, has reportedly taken her daughter Shaniece Hairston, 18, to Barbados to escape the media, according to TMZ. Lozada has been featured in numerous news outlets since her Aug. 11 altercation with Johnson, in which she accused him of head-butting her. While Lozada filed for divorce from Johnson after exchanging nuptials on July 4, the pair have both received some backlash from the incident. While the estranged couple was supposed to be featured in a joint reality television show on VH1, the network decided to cancel the show called "Ev and Ocho." "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network said in a statement. Johnson has also been cut from the Miami Dolphins, and both have suffered in the fall out of their split. The couple married in Saint Martin on just July 4, and Lozada filed for divorce on August 14 saying that her marriage to Johnson was "irretrievably broken."

The incident has left the reality star and her soon to be ex-husband Chad Johnson to abondon twitter for now to avoid any legal ramifications. Evelyn has only took to witter to post the lost of her brother-in-law who she was close too and who recently lost his battle with cancer. Other rumors have emerged that Ex-Football star Warren Sapp may have played a role leading into that night's incident. Warren has since denied the allegations. Evelyn has been under some serious scrutiny over the incident because of her violent ways portrayed in the VH1 Basketball Wives towards other co-stars in the show that Evelyn has physically threatened and tried to harm. is this "Karma" over her negative actions on the show? No matter what it is we do not condone any violence towards women or men, so we do hope for the best for both Evelyn and Chad in their futures.

Known for their long history of producing sneakers that find such demand that individuals are willing to brave days and weeks sleeping in front of retailers, Nike is further distancing themselves from such activities with the recent news that they will no longer be having midnight releases for shoes. According to the Wall Street Journal, Nike will be employing this new rule for one of the more popular and pricy models in the future – the LeBron X – with retailers instructed to wait until 8 A.M. to start selling and posting photos and descriptions of the shoes until after the official launch. While this is aimed at curbing some of the violent and mob-like behavior in the past, others point that it’s an attempt to stop casual sneaker fans from trying to make a quick buck on a re-sell. Swimming champion Michael Phelps might be in hot water with the International Olympic Committee after photos of his posing in a bathtub for part of a Louis Vuitton ad campaign were leaked on the Internet.Phelps was photographed for the campaign in a bathing suit and goggles in a bathtub reportedly by photographer Annie Leibovitz. The photos were released during a time when Olympic athletes are banned from participating in marketing campaigns.The regulation was introduced this year by the Olympic Committee and is known as Rule 40, prohibiting athletes from participating in advertising from July 18 to Aug. 15, which included periods before and after the Olympic Games.

The photo of Phelps in the bathtub next to a Louis Vuitton bag, however, popped up on the Internet in early August, appearing on Paper Mag and the Los Angeles Times, among other websites. Athletes who break Rule 40 can face sanctions, including financial penalties and disqualification from games, which can mean a loss of medals, as outlined in the Olympic Committee’s guidebook. The U.S. International Olympic Committee and Louis Vuitton declined to comment. Representatives for Leibovitz did not immediately return calls from ABC News.

In the new 2012 vision os NBA 2K12, the images of a new uniform were revealed showing a new look to their traditional New York name  and colors on the front of their jerseys. Compared with lasyt year's version, the new look uniforms gives the Knicks a more retro look with a new feel. So with their new neighbor's in Brooklyn getting a new arena, new logos, and new uniforms, do you think the Knicks had to revamp something new like their uniform? How about revamping management too? In the sporting news today, The Wall Street Journal is confirming that Nike will be debuting the Lebron James #10 sneaker this Fall. Nike has revealed that the price tag at retail across the world will be a record setting $315.00 and this is not including tax!!!! But this isn't just any Nike sneaker, this is the 1st sneaker that will debut after LBJ first title with The Miami Heat. Lebron's last edition of the LBJ #9's were only selling for $170.00 and his NIke Elite edition jumped to $250.00 during last year's NBA playoff's. The latest sneaker will come in many color ways including his famous "South Beach" editions as well. So the question is will this be a high selling sneaker for Nike? Or will this be the first time that true Nike fans will actually withdraw from making such a high purchase?! Only time will tell, we will definitely keep watch on the street to see who will be buying and who will not buy these over the top sneaker.

Following a story in The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that Nicki Minaj was a strong candidate to join Mariah Carey behind the judges’ table on “American Idol,” Us Weekly reported that it’s a done deal.
Two sources told Us Weekly that Minaj will get the job, with an insider telling the magazine, “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”   Another source told the magazine that the rapper is “100 percent confirmed to judge ‘American Idol.’ So far, Fox has yet to comment on the report. The Hollywood Reporter initially said Minaj might have a problem landing the “American Idol” job because she has an endorsement deal with Pepsi, and “Idol” is sponsored by Coke. "AIR JORDAN GOLDEN MOMENTS PACKAGE CAUSING ANGER AMONGST SNEAKER FANS"

" IN TODAY'S SNEAKER GAME: RESELLERS WINS, AND TRUE FANS LOSE "

This past weekend made for an historic release of the Air Jordan 6's & 7's "Golden Moments Package". So for months this hype of this release had many people waiting in anticipation. The internet was buzzing about these on every sneaker site you could find. Plus the fact that release came in two's and not just one made fans want them more. The iconic Air Jordan 6's which his "Airness " captured his 1st championship and the Air Jordan 7's where he was able to capture his 2nd Olympic Gold with the 92' Dream Team.  But the thoughts on many minds were "Will we be able to get a pair? and if so how much will it be?" The retail going price was $350, which was about average $175 per sneaker. At this price fans would litterally die to get these. So these were just released to the general pubic with out some type of ticket raffle headed by the good people at Footlocker, Finishline, and Footaction. This raffle idea was suppose to be a simple plan to allow everyone a pair of this much anticipated sneaker. Potential buyers were litterally forced to signed themselves up on-line and setup an account via twitter for a sure short to get a apir of sneakers. But this was too good to be true for many!

Many online participants weren't guaranteed to score a pair and  many stores claimed that didn't have as much sneakers to go around for everyone because the stores got a small amount of sneakers. Many small mom and pop stores in cities such as New York were raising prices 3 times as much. Kids were camped out in Times Square the previous night waiting to get a chance to get a pair the following day. Some were lucky and some weren't. One of the main reasons some weren't able to get a pair was due to people we call "Resellers". These so called resellers are the ones who ruin the game for us true sneakerheads who are denied a pair at the retail price, because someone else has purchased all the sneakers available before you even get a chance to. This unfair practice totally ruins the game we know and grew to love. It's like  now a days it's not about getting a rare pair of sneakers for the love, but who can get their hands on the most packeges for the bigger score later.   

Man! I miss the days when you were able to walk into a store and get a fresh pair of sneakers without going through so many hoops. It saddens me that not people love the game for what it means. I loved the game for the sports that it was associated with, and not the greed it stands for these days. I miss the good old days when getting sneakers was for the love and not so much for the money. In my opinion "Love" played a big reason why I never fell out my relationships with sneakers, but it seems like greed is slowly ruining the game we all love. I watched Michael Jordan play and though I hated the Bulls I still wanted to be like Mike in everything and buying a pair of sneakers made me feel like that as a child, what a great feeling.Now a days you have to be lucky or have deep pockets in order to get a pair of sneakers. I hope the sneaker companies can change their tactics sooner than later before it's too late!

A customs cop in LA yesterday eyes one of the fake $800 “designer” shoes seized after arriving on ships from China. Louboutins have earned iconic status in fashion circles as a favorite of celebrities, royals and anyone else who wants to spend as much on their feet as many New Yorkers spend on rent. The tip-off that something phony was going on is that the real Louboutins, from a French designer, are made in Italy and would have been shipped from Europe. “Once we saw it was coming in from China, we knew there was a problem with the shipment,” said CBP Officer Guillermina Escoba. The fakes turned up in one shipment from China that reached LA July 27, and four more that arrived Tuesday, officials said. In all, there were 20,457 pairs.“We know by expertise that red soles are a protected trademark in the US. So we sent samples and communicated with Christian Louboutin — the legitimate owner of this trademark,” Ruiz said.  “They said, ‘No, those are not real. We aren’t expecting those shipments. In fact, we don’t make those shoes in China.’ ” 

Customs agents said the knockoffs were very good, as counterfeits go, and would have likely been destined for Web sites that specialize in knockoffs, black-market dealers, flea markets and swap meets — not legitimate retailers. “The public is misguided into believing they are buying an original product at a significant discount,” the CBP said. The scam was well disguised because three different importers made the shipments, US officials said. No one has been arrested, and an investigation is continuing. But no one gets to keep the shoes — they will be destroyed, probably by burning. Peddlers of high-end knockoff shoes are seeing red. Federal agents intercepted a massive haul of bogus Christian Louboutin pumps that scammers were trying to slip into the United States. More than 20,000 pairs of the shoes — with their distinctive red soles — arrived from China at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport, officials said. They were listed on manifests as nondescript “footwear” with a value of just $57, 490 — or less than $3 per pair of high-heeled pumps. But if they were marketed as Louboutins, which sell for more than $800 a pair, they could have been sold to unsuspecting Americans for $18 million, said Customs and Border Protection spokesman Jaime Ruiz.

As the film's stars - including Jordin Sparks and Tika Sumpter - walked the red carpet and later mingled at Alizé COCO's after-party, the late Houston, who died in February, was on everyone's mind. The overall tone was celebratory versus sorrowful," a partygoer told us. "People were happy to watch her in one last, amazing role." There was also "lots and lots of chatter" about Houston deserving an Oscar nom for her performance. At the party, held at The Yard at the Soho Grand Hotel, the DJ played a few of Houston's hits, which were received with smiles and a little dancing, but not an all-out celebration.

NY - Move over LeBron - another member of the Miami Heat is getting into the style game.Dwyane Wade has teamed up with luxury watch maker Hublot for a limited edition watch, modestly named King Power "D-Wade," according to Women's Wear Daily.The band is made to resemble a basketball net and the number three, Wade's logo, is emblazoned on the watch face. The watches retail for a mere $20,000. "I wanted the watch to have basketball characteristics. It's a combination of a lifestyle and a sports watch. You can dress it up or dress it down," Wade told WWD at the Hublot's Madison Avenue flagship.

Wade was named an ambassador of Hublot in February, after the brand found out the basketball superstar was a fan."I really wanted to add my subtle details. I wanted it to be authentic to who I am. I think this watch speaks to me and my personality," Wade said. "My style is classic and gentlemanly with a little spice mixed in."

 I've never seen so much hype over a back-up quarterback ever in the history of football. But I guess Tim Tebow isn't just any football player, right?! I think his"seal of approavl is in the house of the lord and with so many women young and old who also approve of him being the one athelete they want to see on Sunday's come football season. Today Tim Tebow turns the ripe age of 25 (Happy Birthday Dude) and what better to celebrate his brithday than becoming the face of  this month's GQ Magazine. Mark Sanchez also graced GQ magazine not to long ago, but not to the degree of what Tebow's shows on this month's issue.  tebow shows a lot of skin which the ladies are loving unlike Sanchez who didn't show off any skin to his female fans. But only time will tell with Tebow and Circus called  the "NY JETS". No one really knows for sure, but I'm sure if things don't go mark Sanchez's way by the 2nd game of the NFL season, Tebow will be called upon to help save the Jets season. So I'm sure we will all be tuned it every Sunday afternoon the Jets play to see what will become of Mr. Tebow and the NY Jets, because it's "Superbowl or Bust" this year, so will Tebow be their savior?
