" THE ODB LIVES ON "

" Mr. RUSSELL JONES AKA THE O.D.B OF WU TANG CLAN WILL GET A BIO'EPIC MOVIE BASED ON HIS LIFE "

Growing up with Russell Jones in the East New York Section of Brooklyn was a crazy thing. Not only was he a wild child, but Russell was such an outspoken person. I call him Russell because that was his name he was given by his mother before he committed his life over to The 5 percent nation of Islam changing his name to Unique Ason. But no matter what name he had I always knew him as Russell. I knew that Russell would make it big in anything that he did, because he was such a colorful character of a  person growing up around the way. But it all hit me in 1992 when I first saw him as of on the elite members of The Wu Tang Clan, trust me I wasn't surprised. Russell was a part of Hip Hop's most storied rap groups in history. He had the potential to many bigger things in the future to come for the music industry, but his life was cut short at the young age of 35 in 2004. Now I' happy to hear that a movie based on his life will be made to tell the story of his life.

Michael K. Williams of The Wire, Boardwalk Empire and Community will play the late Ol Dirty Bastard in upcoming film called "Dirty White Boy". The movie is based on the true story of Jarred Weisfeld, the kid who left a VH1 internship at age 22 to become ODB’s manager Joaquin Baca-Asa has been listed as the project’s director. The project is his directorial debut, but Asay is no stranger to film, having acted as cinematographer and director of photography for a number of films, including Super Troopers. Brent Hoff, co-founder of the McSweeney’s-published DVD magazine Wholphin, is penning the original screenplay. Both Weisfeld and ODB’s mom, Cherry Jones, will cooperate in the production of the film. Sources say as for 2 members of the Wu Tang Clan ( Raekwon, GZA) will not be planing on being in the film.
