A kid from Kalamazoo, Michigan. A Yankee who was destined to be! Since his Rookie year in 1996, you bought 5 championships to NYC as a member of The New York Yankees, It hasn't been pretty, but you made it all worth while to be a baseball fan for forever! A gentlemen on and off the field, a true Yankee legend, and I'm glad I was able to watch you play for the city that I truly love! Thanks Derek for being a true role model to me and I'm sure millions of others who have watched you play the game the right way!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

GOOOOAAAALLLL!!!! 2014 WORLD CUP GEAR BY NIKE, ADIDAS, PUMA AND MORE!

 URBAN M.E.S.S : STYLE/SPORTS
(SUMMER 2014)

I can’t lie, if you would have asked a few years ago, “if I would rock a soccer Jersey?” my answer would be “No!” Honestly, I’m not the biggest soccer fan in the world and in NYC Soccer comes in 5th place behind (Baseball, Basket Ball, US Football, and Hockey) Plus  I would only see guys of Mexican origin on the train rocking them and I would assume they play for some amateur soccer team straight of Flushing Queens, NY.  Now maybe I was a little bias, or slightly ignorant or maybe both! But my curiosity for such sports attire changed when I watched the  2012 Summer Olympics, and saw that the US Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams don some pretty nifty gear during the games. But there are other sure fire jersey, such as Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Portugal, Italia, and more!

 But still I wasn’t  totally sold on me actually getting jersey. But this has all changed during the “2014 World Cup” games in Brazil. Nike, Adidas, and Puma has produced some really nice jersey’s for all fans (Male, female, and Kids too). So let me be the first to apologize and say that “Soccer not only for people that play amateur soccer leagues within the city only!” These jerseys are DOPE!” Too bad my US team are gone form the tournament, but I must say they looked pretty stud wearing the RED, WHITE, and BLUE for our country!  But it also seems that the World Cup Phenomenon has swept through the US especially here in NYC, as I see many people wearing such jerseys from their native home land or their parents’ home land. It has definitely taken the US by storm!

If you would like to purchase jerseys like these below you can search on line for them thru site such as (Nike.com, Adidas.com or Puma.com) or any fine retailer that has them for retail ($60 - $90), but that’s if you can still find any left? Last I checked they were sold out in many stores  here in NYC so Good Luck!!!

URBAN M.E.S.S MAGAZINE: THE RAPPER/ACTOR TAG (HOW WE BRAKE IT DOWN FOR YOU!)

Maybe it's the emtion behind some of his songs, or maybe there are more south-of-the-border "Degrassi" fans than one would imagine, but Drake will always carry the "Rapper/Actor" tag in the minds of many. That puts him in pretty good company, many of hiphop biggest stars have balanced careers behind the microphone and in front of the camera. Here is a breakdown of some rapper/actors to do it, including which job title takes up more space on their resume's?

** Key: ( % Rapper) (% Actor) **

#9) Common (70% Rapper) (30% Actor)

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS (BATMAN ARKHAM ORIGINS VIDEO GAME)

quot;Batman: Arkham Originsquot;

" Batman Returns "

The "Batman: Arkham" series already has given gamers two nearly perfect iterations in the past few years, so it seems reasonable to set the bar high for the prequel, "Batman: Arkham Origins." And maybe that isn't fair. After all, "Origins" was the product of a different development team -- albeit using nearly all of the same gameplay as its predecessors. It's not that "Origins" is a bad game. Not at all.It's every bit as much fun to play as the first two in the series, and you still get the distinct feeling that you're slipping on the cape and cowl. The problem is that the game just feels like too much of a retread. Plotwise, all you need to know is that there's a $50 million bounty on Batman's head, which attracts eight assassins to Gotham on Christmas Eve two years into The Dark Knight's career. There are some twists along the way, but it's not the doozy of a story gamers were treated to in the last game, "Batman: Arkham City."

It sets up the action well enough, the boss fights against most of the assassins are a highlight of the gameplay, as has been the case in the series. The Bane and Firefly battles are especially memorable. Beyond that, the stealth portions of the game will feel almost exactly the same as in the past. So will the combat, even with the addition of the new -- and overpowered -- shock gloves. The only big thing that makes this game stand out in the series is an added online multiplayer mode. It's an interesting idea -- two gangs fight for supremacy while Batman and Robin aim to take both out. The mode isn't a flop, but it's not going to win over online gamers who'd rather be playing "Call of Duty." Most, however, will be happy to play through the story and numerous side missions. They'll have a good time, just not as good as they might have been hoping to have.
