"AIR JORDAN GOLDEN MOMENTS PACKAGE CAUSING ANGER AMONGST SNEAKER FANS"

" IN TODAY'S SNEAKER GAME: RESELLERS WINS, AND TRUE FANS LOSE "

This past weekend made for an historic release of the Air Jordan 6's & 7's "Golden Moments Package". So for months this hype of this release had many people waiting in anticipation. The internet was buzzing about these on every sneaker site you could find. Plus the fact that release came in two's and not just one made fans want them more. The iconic Air Jordan 6's which his "Airness " captured his 1st championship and the Air Jordan 7's where he was able to capture his 2nd Olympic Gold with the 92' Dream Team.  But the thoughts on many minds were "Will we be able to get a pair? and if so how much will it be?" The retail going price was $350, which was about average $175 per sneaker. At this price fans would litterally die to get these. So these were just released to the general pubic with out some type of ticket raffle headed by the good people at Footlocker, Finishline, and Footaction. This raffle idea was suppose to be a simple plan to allow everyone a pair of this much anticipated sneaker. Potential buyers were litterally forced to signed themselves up on-line and setup an account via twitter for a sure short to get a apir of sneakers. But this was too good to be true for many!

Many online participants weren't guaranteed to score a pair and  many stores claimed that didn't have as much sneakers to go around for everyone because the stores got a small amount of sneakers. Many small mom and pop stores in cities such as New York were raising prices 3 times as much. Kids were camped out in Times Square the previous night waiting to get a chance to get a pair the following day. Some were lucky and some weren't. One of the main reasons some weren't able to get a pair was due to people we call "Resellers". These so called resellers are the ones who ruin the game for us true sneakerheads who are denied a pair at the retail price, because someone else has purchased all the sneakers available before you even get a chance to. This unfair practice totally ruins the game we know and grew to love. It's like  now a days it's not about getting a rare pair of sneakers for the love, but who can get their hands on the most packeges for the bigger score later.

Man! I miss the days when you were able to walk into a store and get a fresh pair of sneakers without going through so many hoops. It saddens me that not people love the game for what it means. I loved the game for the sports that it was associated with, and not the greed it stands for these days. I miss the good old days when getting sneakers was for the love and not so much for the money. In my opinion "Love" played a big reason why I never fell out my relationships with sneakers, but it seems like greed is slowly ruining the game we all love. I watched Michael Jordan play and though I hated the Bulls I still wanted to be like Mike in everything and buying a pair of sneakers made me feel like that as a child, what a great feeling. Now a days you have to be lucky or have deep pockets in order to get a pair of sneakers. I hope the sneaker companies can change their tactics sooner than later before it's too late!

" BOLT-ING INTO THE FUTURE?!?!? "

" SO WHAT OTHER SPORT CAN JAMAICA'S USAIN BOLT EXCEL IN OTHER THAN TRACK & FIELD, WE MIGHT HAVE THE ANSWER! "

Reading today's ESPN.com site and it suggested that Jamaica's olympic gold medalist is breaking world record's in this year's 2012 Summer Olympic games in London. We take a look at what other sports that this raw talent of a man can possibly do well in, here is some suggestion. Every four years, American sports fans are wowed by the speed of Jamaica’s Usain Bolt. Then many of these same fans immediately think: “OMG. I wonder what he could do on a football field!” Probably not much, because Bolt has never played football, has never been hit, and probably can’t catch very well. That said, why are we limiting Bolt’s future to football? There are many other sports in which he theoretically could succeed.

Long jump: Can he jump long? Who knows. Carl Lewis was a great sprinter and did pretty well in the long jump. When you run a 9.63 in the 100 meters, the long jump isn’t too hard. You just sprint to the line and lift up your legs. Physics takes over from there. Watch a plane take off sometime.

Marathon: With a 9.63 pace in 100 meters, Bolt would run a marathon in about an hour. That time would blow the world record out of the water. What’s that, you say? He couldn’t keep that pace up for 26.2 miles? Fine. Even if he just coasted half-speed, he’d still do quite well.

Swimming: What’s swimming if not running in the water? In both running and swimming, you succeed by moving your arms and legs really fast. Bolt would just have to jump in the water and do what comes naturally, albeit with the plane of his body tilted forward 45 degrees. Michael Phelps’ records wouldn’t stand a chance.

Pinch runner: Even more unlikely than Bolt being able to catch a football with a defensive back draped on him? Bolt hitting a major league slider. But he wouldn’t have to hit. He could just come in late in the game as a pinch runner, steal second, steal third -- those first two steals often coming on the same pitch -- and then steal home. Game over. If George Steinbrenner were still alive, the Yankees would have signed him already.

Tennis ball man: Perhaps not as exciting a job as the others, but a speedy tennis-ball retriever guy sure would keep matches going.

NFL draft bust: Bolt would be insane to not show up at the 2013 NFL draft combine to run a 3.8 40. Scouts would explode in excitement and make him the No. 1 overall pick. He wouldn’t have to impress anyone with actual football activities -- or rather, not impress anyone with actual football activities -- until after signing his contract.

No sure if Usain will ever think about playing another sport? But it may be a long time before we ever see such a display of skill in the sport of track and filed, unlike Usain Bolt. He sure is delight to watch during the summer games. It's a shame we have to wait until 2016 when the summer games are are displayed in Brazil.  So will we ever see him compete again???? I gues we have to wait and see?  Until then enjoy him now for this may be the last time we will possibly see him run again in the Summer Olympics.
