It's official! Beyonce will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.After the AP broke the story with an anonymous source, the singer took to her blog to confirm the gig in a decidedly Beyonce manner: She posted a photo of her face with eyeblack featuring the words "Feb. 3 2013." That, of course, is the date of Super Bowl XLVII. Last year, Madonna teamed up with M.I.A., Nicki Minaj and LMFAO for a somewhat chaotic halftiME performance (M.I.A. notoriously showed the camera her middle finger). A source familiar with the Super Bowl told The Associated Press the Grammy-winning diva will take the stage at the halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because that person wasn't authorized to publicly reveal the information. The official announcement is expected Wednesday, the source said. Beyonce, whose pop and R&B hits include "Crazy in Love," "Irreplaceable" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," has won 16 Grammy Awards. The 31-year-old sang the national anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl in her hometown of Houston when the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews says the New York Giants didn't beat his team, but rather the Packers beat themselves in their playoff meeting last year.  When told about that comment, defensive end Justin Tuck said he thanks Matthews for the gift.  "Thank you for giving us the game, Clay," Tuck deadpanned. "I appreciate it a lot."  "Did they play their best ball?" Tuck continued. "I don't know. But we won the football game. I don't think they gave us anything."  Matthews told Yahoo! Sports that the Packers "picked the most inopportune time to play our worst ball." "The fact is, (the Giants) didn't beat us; we beat ourselves," Matthews said to Yahoo! Sports. "We need to play our best ball when it counts. This year, I expect us to be right back where we should be." 

The Giants stunned the Packers 37-20 in the NFC divisional round last postseason in Green Bay on the way to their Super Bowl win. They nearly upset the Packers during the regular season before dropping a 38-35 loss. Tuck agrees with Matthews that teams have to play their best at the right time. But he said he feels the Giants did just that at Green Bay. "When they fumbled the ball, I think it was us that stripped it out," Tuck explained of a key play during the playoff win at Green Bay. "We sacked them. I think it was us who beat their O-linemen and got to (Aaron) Rodgers. So I don't think they just Ole'd everything and gave us the game. I think they were trying to win." Despite winning their final six games in a row and the Super Bowl, the Giants have taken notice of those who doubt the defending world champs.

The Giants have mentioned how some have picked the Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East and how there are some who believe the Giants got lucky and hot at the right time."Who cares," Tuck said when asked if he finds it comical how some are doubting the Giants this season. "I don't find it comical. I find it somewhat depressing. We lost games last year where luckily for us we got the opportunity to play the next week. "It is football, it is a funny game. Talk is cheap. Play the game. We will see Green Bay again this year so we will see who lays down that week."  The Giants are scheduled to host the Packers on Nov. 25 at 8:20 p.m. ET.

"You're up on stage getting the box," Manning said Wednesday night, "and you wonder how quickly you can get off stage and open the box and get the ring on."Manning and his New York Giants teammates received their Super Bowl rings at Tiffany's, and the jewelry was as impressive as the Giants' run through the NFL playoffs last winter. It was the second title in four years for Manning and the Giants, and the fourth overall in the Super Bowl era for the franchise. This ring features white gold and sapphires surrounding the NY logo. There are four Vince Lombardi Trophy replicas, too.

The blue makes it a little different," Manning said. "We wanted some blue - the Giants are 'Big Blue.' We definitely wanted to get a little blue to spark it up a little bit."The inside of the ring is engraved with coach Tom Coughlin's mantra from last season, "Finish," and "All In," another theme the team involved as it won its final two regular-season games to take the NFC East, then won four postseason games, including the Super Bowl over New England. Justin Tuck, the leader of the Giants' defense, wore both of his Super Bowl rings, the 2008 version almost dwarfed by the 2012 ring. He had one on each index finger as he held up the Super Bowl trophy. "The second ring makes you that much more hungry," Tuck said. "The first time you might be in awe. I think we want to make it a dynasty."
