"HERE IS A FEW REASONS WHY DRAKE'S AALIYAH ALBUM MIGHT WORK"

While Drake has given us lyrical evidence that he has possession issues, he claims the late R&B songbird Aaliyah like a forlorn lover. Omit the somewhat creepy back ink of baby girl’s face and the seemingly half-baked posthumous collaboration “Enough Said” and there may be reasons why these two will make the perfect match in musical heaven on her post-mortem album

Aaliyah’s 2002 compilation I Care 4 U featured the smooth ballad of the same name, where the singer offers affection to the man she loves. Fast forward to 2011, Toronto spitter Drake dropped his sophomore effort Take Care along with the Rihanna-assisted track that reads like a response to Aaliyah. Their fragile emotions mixed with mirror-image lyricism makes for radio-friendly romance.

Aaliyah would be the first to say that age ain’t nothin’ but a double digit, but numerical significance isn’t lost on Drake, who etched “416″ along the side of his torso. The number doubles as “116,” an homage to his hometown and A’s birthday, January 16. Combine the two on wax and it may mean some hefty numbers on the sales side too.

"MADE IN AMERICA FESTIVAL" JAY-Z SHOWS HIS LOVE FOR PHILLY ALONG WITH OTHER BIG NAMES IN THE BUSINESS

" PHILDELPHIA STATE OF MIND "

The event is the first of its kind for the entrepreneurial Jay-Z, who is married to superstar Beyonce and owns a music management company, fashion line, nightclub and restaurant; he's also a co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets. "Since you were so good to me, Philly, I'm going to be good to you tonight, Philly," Jay-Z yelled. Rappers Pusta T and Big Sean hit the stage, and Kanye West followed, receiving an electrifying roar from the crowd. They performed a medley of hits, such as "Mercy," "Dance" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing." Jay-Z also brought out his former protΘgΘs and Philadelphians Freeway, Chris and Neff, as well as Memphis Bleek. Common, 2 Chainz and Swizz Beatz also made appearances. The scene was colorful and energetic, as thousands of music fans shifted from the three stages on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to watch Skrillex, D'Angelo, Passion Pit, Janelle Monae, Calvin Harris and 10 other acts. Sunday's line-up includes Pearl Jam, Run DMC, Odd Future and Drake, who was in the crowd Saturday night. The festival is being filmed as a documentary and will be directed by Ron Howard. Proceeds from the ticketed event will benefit United Way chapters. Jay-Z closed the night with West, performing the smash hit "...In Paris." Then fireworks blasted.

" WATCHING THE THRONE.... CAREFULLY! "

"DRAKE PASSES JAY-Z FOR MOST #1 SINGLES"
So does Jay-Z really need to watch the throne? People can keep on talking about Drake executive producing Aaliyah‘s posthumous album while he breaks records. It’s official. Drake has the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts with 10 hits including the recent collaboration with 2 Chainz for “No Lies.” He can thank 2 Chainz later. Unexpectedly the YMCMB rapper passed Jay-Z who previously held the title with nine No. 1s on the same charts. The total number includes both individual songs and collaborations. Who would have thought the guy with some of the most regrettable go-to looks would break a veterans record so early in his career? His boss Lil Wayne is third on the list with eight No. 1s  and Kanye West‘s not far behind with six. Weezy really did cultivate the Toronto rapper so he could take over the rap game one R&B/Hip Hop hit at a time.

" FIGHT CLUB "

" A MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE "
CHRIS BROWN, DRAKE THROW DOWN AFTER $2,000 ACE OF SPADE CHAMPAGNE  IS SENT BACK WITH A EDGY NOTE WRITTEN BY DRAKE "

Hotheaded hip-hop stars Drake and Chris Brown turned a SoHo nightclub into a blood-soaked battlefield yesterday as they and their entourages fought with fists and bottles over the affections of Rihanna, sources and witnesses said. “I am f**king the love of your life,” read a note sent from Drake’s table to Brown at about 4 a.m. after Brown ordered his rival’s table a bottle of pricey Armand de Brignac Champagne commonly known as Ace of Spades, a witness said. “I saw him tell the waitress to send a bottle to Drake’s table. I then saw a waitress come back with a piece of paper and gave it to Chris,” Ingrid Gutierrez, 21, a model who was sitting at Brown’s table, told The Post. “He looked upset and just threw it on the floor.”  Drake and a posse that included rapper Meek Mill and all their bodyguards then walked over to the table where a shirtless Brown was seated. “They were giving him [Brown] the middle finger. They got into each other’s faces and were shouting at each other,” Gutierrez said.

“Chris told Drake to f--k off, and the next thing I could hear is the sound smashed glass and mayhem started.“Somebody in Drake’s group I don’t think it was Drake swung at Chris, but missed. “Chris didn’t swing back, he just tried to brush them off. He told us, ‘Let’s go,’ but there were bottles flying at us. I saw one bottle was thrown, it looked like a vodka bottle, and hit Chris on the face,” she said. “The anger from Drake’s entourage was terrifying.” The bloodshed touched off a full-scale brawl in the basement club where aat least 5 bystanders were injured by flying bottles. Club W.I.P., connected to the much-larger Greenhouse club, was jammed at the time with a slew of celebrities including Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Wale, Ne-Yo and NBA star Tony Parker and their hangers-on. Brown, 23 on probation for assaulting Rihanna three years ago suffered a deep gash on his face. “There was blood gushing out of Chris’ chin,” Gutierrez said.
W.I.P.’s floor was left a wasteland of broken glass, spilled booze and blood after the capacity crowd emptied out onto Van Dam and Varick streets. NYPD detectives yesterday took copies of surveillance video that captured the brawl. There were at least two police reports filed as cops investigated. Brown’s rep, Raymond, said, “Chris, Karreuche and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at W.I.P. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with New York authorities, who are pursuing the incident further.”
